Doesn’t work

I got this the other day and cannot get it to work. I am really disappointed to be completely honest.

It doesn’t work!

Had an APPLE version with lightning adapter, for my old iPad it worked great.
But I just bought a new iPad with usb-C socket, so I got the Alogic version today to transfer photos to my new ipad, it doesn’t work? Checked it both ways, tried removing the SD card, reinserted ..nothing!
